Almost everybody has heard of twitter in one way or another. Either they use twitter themselves or they’ve heard about twitter on the news or on television in general. You can build a large network of followers through twitter. These followers can be friends, associates, clients, or even customers. This is a must read for those who are new to social networking. Twitter has really shaken up the social networking community and the web in general for that matter.

Twitter allows 140 characters maximum for each post they call a tweet. This ensures that twitter stays fast moving, exciting, fast-paced and forces you to be short and concise with your messages. This is a good thing, because of the readers are more inclined to read a short message in a very long post. With hundred 40 characters is a limit you need to make sure that you get right to the point. Don’t waste time with extraneous conversation such as this is what I referenced all of this and I’m about to do now but it really doesn’t matter.

Unlike a webpage or a blog this can result in quick relationship building and even quicker dumping is you are not on point with the conversation. It’s very easy to get unfollowed. The good thing is you can spice up your message with audio and video if you know how. This is what makes Web 2.0 so much different than Web 1.0. Web 1.0 would be a webpage updated itself perhaps at bats once a day. Using Web 2.0 social networking sites updates themselves constantly. Most of the time is updating is around one time per second.

You can invite your friends, family, acquaintances, business associates to join you on twitter by following you. Even though your friends may not be what help you build your business they may know people that are following them that might be interested in your business, this is the beauty of networking on twitter.

The twitter you have an opportunity to create your own niche with your own signature on that niche in a few easy steps. You have 140 characters to get your message across that the beauty is that you can get a cross over and over again as it cycles through the twitter community. You can be assured that others will be seeing your message it’s up to you to write a compelling message that makes them want to investigate it further.

In order to get more traffic would twitter you should follow the experts in your field. It is best to get as miniature followers as you possibly can. You can accomplish this by following a lot of people, and you have about a 50% chance of them following you back. This strange twitter rule that is unwritten but it makes twitter more enjoyable. Make it very easy to make friends and followers, but that’s just the beginning. You need to develop these relationships once you have your foot in the door as a follower.

Once they follow you back, you should take the time if you can send them a message saying thank you. Another trick is to un follow any of those people that have not followed you back within three days. This will keep the total number of people that you are following to a minimum.

The twitter community relies on each others treating each twitter with respect. Because it is so easy to un-follow is a very low tolerance for bad behavior. If someone doesn’t like how you’re acting or what you’re writing they will simply stop following you.
